Sunglasses

Recently, Levi has discovered his sunglasses.  He thinks he looks really cool in them too, which is really funny to watch him check himself out in the mirror.  The last three mornings he has worn them around the house for at least an hour.  Yesterday, I found him like this!  :)  I think he was tired of not being able to see well inside!  haha

Levi's first haircut!

He started out with a full head of hair and he definitely wanted to keep it that way.  He struggled with John, who was determined to cut Levi's hair.
Levi finally realized sitting still wasn't so bad especially since the "buzz" of the hair clippers almost put him to sleep.
He finished up the haircut with a bath!
After a bath and a nap, he got a snack.

So, the hair got a little shorter than we both anticipated, but we are just hopeful that his hair will grow back faster than it did for the first 18 months!

Chuck E. Cheese

Our friends had their son's 1st birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese's!  The wives sat around and talked and the dads/husbands and kids had a good time playing all the games!  Levi definitely wants to go back.

10-week appt

I had my 10 week appointment on Monday.  All is well!  John was not able to make it, but I got to hear the heartbeat which is always so cool!  There IS a baby in there.  :)  We have had a rough couple of weeks with some family stuff last week, Levi throwing up because of eggs, John having the flu on Monday, and Levi teething.  Ahhhh!  We are all recovering from a lot going on and we are feeling more on top of things today.

Egg allergy

We finally thought Levi was over his egg allergy, so I made eggs for lunch yesterday and guess who was up with him all night while he was throwing up?  All three of us had rough nights, except Levi started his day out like last night wasn't a big deal.  He was running all over this morning, happy as a clam.  He can eat eggs in things like bread, mayo, etc, he cannot have just eggs though. I have called the hospital to see if they can test him for the allergy but they said they cannot because it is not an allergy that can kill him.  The reason we know it is an allergy is because he also breaks out in a rash on his cheeks.  The doctor said he will most likely grow out of it; we will see.  I don't mind that he is allergic to eggs, even though I know there would be many benefits to eating them, I honestly HATE watching him throw up.  The whole process is out of my control. Also, when I am pregnant the puke smell doesn't do much for my stomach.

Michael Phelps and the Arizona Cardinals

Yesterday, John and I got home from our super bowl party and were feeling bummed.  We had a great party with all of our friends, but there was something else disturbing us.  John was feeling down because the Cardinals lost and I was feeling blue because there was a little blurb on the news after the game that Michael Phelps was caught smoking pot.  We started talking about why events like those make us feel so horrible and we figured out that we expect too much from either a sports team or a famous athlete, etc.  We look up to PEOPLE too much, we expect so much from our sinful, mortal bodies.  We all want someone to look up to, but we have to know that person is always going to let us down in some way.  The only one that won't let us down is God, plain and simple.  He may not give us everything we want but if we focus on Him and His calling for our lives then we will not be disappointed in Him.

Levi and his pot!

The other day Levi was trying to step into this pot so John helped him get in and then Levi sat down!  He loves pots and pans and now he can say he has sat in one!  The things he comes up with always make me laugh so hard.
