Levi

Levi is a busy boy these days which keeps me on my toes! We recently got him a slide for the backyard which he is enjoying any chance he can get. He also really likes to play on the swing set that was left behind by the previous owners of the house. He is becoming a very good climber which makes me nervous sometimes.

We also purchased a booster seat recently, and he is loving sitting at the table with John and I! We like having him at the table with us, but I just keep thinking how fast he is growing up already! I can't believe he will be two in August.

Baby Update

I went in for my glucose/diabetes screening test yesterday. Everything is normal and the woman taking my blood actually found a plump vein on the first try, which I was totally impressed by and very thankful for because if you read the next entry I had an ear infection and wasn't feeling well anyway. I am measuring right on at 27 1/2 weeks. The baby is kicking a lot, which I am already finding uncomfortable.

We have been telling Levi that there is a baby in my tummy but we haven't expected him to understand. However, the other day, he randomly pointed at my stomach and said, "baby". So now when we ask him where the baby is, he points at my stomach. :) He knows there is something up with mama's growing belly!

Ear Infections and Allergies

What in the world is going on? Two weeks ago Levi's eyes started turning pink and prior to that he had a runny nose and watery eyes, so once the pink eyes showed up we brought him into the doctor to get him checked out. His pediatrician said that he had allergy induced conjunctivitis. She prescribed him some zyrtec and some allergy eye drops. He was cleared up in a couple of days. She said allergies have been worse this year because of the ash fall we got back in March. Next was John's turn. Last week he went in to the ER and was diagnosed with a double ear infection. He is feeling better now! On Tuesday night my right ear started hurting and by 8:30 I knew I had an ear infection as well. I went in Wednesday morning because I had a doctors appt anyway which was very convenient. Sure enough, my doctor diagnosed me with an ear infection. John and I haven't had ear infections for at least 20 years so this was strange that they happened all of the sudden and at the same time. I am starting to feel a little bit better but everything on my right side is still muffled a little which puts my equilibrium off a little.

Camping in Cooper Landing, Hiking Resurrection Trail, Watching Juneau Falls

Friday evening we (John, Me, our friends Kyle, Natalie, Tyler, Laura, Jeremy, Brandy, and Melanie with her son Eli, oh and three dogs) headed down to Cooper Landing to John's grandpa's cabin for a relaxing
camping trip. We had a blast getting away for the weekend while Pete and Paula watched Levi and we were left with no responsibilities. I had forgotten what that feels like. Saturday we got up and mid morning headed to resurrection trail to do some hiking. Our destination was Juneau Falls which John said was only a four mile hike. We all thought he meant round trip but it was four miles in and four miles back, but it was well worth it to see the beautiful waterfall and the gorgeous mountains from up high.

The weather was very nice-75 and sunny. After the hike we headed back to the cabin for some hobo dinners and then played games and hit the hay early! We were all pretty tired, but we woke up rested Sunday. We packed up and headed home. It was a great weekend!
