Solid Rock Bible Camp

For Memorial Weekend, John, Levi, and I all went down to Solid Rock Bible Camp in Soldotna, AK for a work weekend that happens every year on memorial weekend. We left our house Friday evening and didn't get home until Monday, early afternoon, just in time for Levi's nap. Saturday we spent the day cleaning up the camp: raking, cleaning the beach, building new projects, cleaning up the volleyball court, working on camp vehicles (we didn't but others did), etc. etc. Sunday was a free day. We took Levi on a walk around the lake, which he liked. We took him to ride the horses, which he didn't like. He likes to look at animals, he isn't really into touching them. However, he did like to wear the helmet needed for the pony ride. His friend Madison helped him put his helmet on and take it off. Levi also got to see goats, chickens, rabbits, dogs and cats on this trip. We had so much fun getting out of town for awhile to visit some friends and work at camp again (this is the camp John has been going to since he was little and also the camp we worked at when we first moved back here). We are already signed up for next year!

Pregnancy Update

I know I haven't been very good about keeping up with our blog lately. What can I say except that we have a lot going on and this was easier for me to do during the winter when I was inside already. Enough with the excuses, my pregnancy is going well. I had an appointment two weeks ago and everything looks and feels fine. I am now 25 1/2 weeks along. I am positive I am bigger with this one than I was with Levi. In the past 2 weeks sleeping has become increasingly difficult and I am using the three pillow method (one between my legs, one to support my belly and one by my head) to help me sleep better at night. My hips are also starting to ache if I sit too long or if I sleep funny. Ahh, the joys of pregnancy. I have to say though that this pregnancy is going a lot faster than Levi's and if this keeps up the baby will be here in no time! John has been extra supportive with helping with Levi which I appreciate so much. Levi is going through a stage where he just wants to be held when we go places. We have made him walk since he could so his wanting to be held is kind of throwing me off. Of course I shouldn't be carrying him everywhere, so me making him walk causes him to throw fits. These are frustrating times in my day but we are working on it. I am so thankful that John is patient with Levi at times when I know I couldn't be. I could never do this parenting thing alone!

Pennsylvania trip summary!

Here are pictures from our PA trip! As you can tell, I couldn't decide what pictures I liked the best because we had so much fun and made so many memories! To start out the trip, we flew from Anchorage to Seattle to Atlanta to Harrisburg. Levi and I were exhausted but our tiredness disappeared when we saw auntie Danielle, uncle Andrew, cousin Ella, and cousin Peter all at the airport to pick us up. We drove an hour away, back to Danville (where they live), only stopping for some grub. Levi got accustomed to the warm weather right away and just four days after we arrived it was 90 degrees! We enjoyed being outside and Levi enjoyed playing in the pool with his cousins. We celebrated cousin Peter's birthday while we were there-he turned 1! Levi had a great time wearing Ella's shoes/boots around the HOUSE. :) It was also the first time Levi had ever played with playdough; he really enjoyed squishing it and even tasted a bite (mmm, salt!). We took a trip to Lewisburg (sp?) and walked around the quaint little town, home of Bucknell University. We did some shopping, ate, and then let the kids run around on a grass strip to wear off some of their energy. Uncle Andrew found a baseball in the river and Levi liked to throw it. Levi and Ella also saw some ducks in the stream and watched the ducks happily while they linked arms. :) Last weekend we made a trip to Hershey, PA. We went to the zoo and to Chocolate world. After no naps, Levi and Peter had had enough of the sight seeing so we retired for the evening. Auntie Jenna was able to come for a week out to PA from CA last minute and going to Hershey marked the end of her trip. She flew out the next morning. :( For the next three days it rained and turned everything green. The rain meant the kids were primarily inside, which at times was a lot to handle. While I was taking a shower one day, Danielle stuck all the kids in the pack-n-play (last pic) and they had a blast! Kids contained+having fun=less stress for the adults! Overall we had such a great trip and we were very sad to leave; however, we will be seeing Danielle, Ella, Peter, and Jenna in June!

Pennsylvania

Levi and I have been enjoying some time in Pennsylvania visiting John's sister, Danielle, and her husband, Andrew, and their kids, Ella and Peter! We have been having a great time hanging out with them and are sad to be leaving next Wednesday. However, we miss John and he misses us so we will be glad to reunited again. I will write more about our trip and post pictures once we return home!
